Good #Shoes Have These

Our feet are the first thing to touch the ground in the morning and the last things to leave the ground before we go to bed so they provide us with a great deal of service. One of the things that people who have foot issues will tell you is that they never knew how much work their feet really did in the entirety of their health. I having feet and ankles that are healthy properly aligned and well supported they prevent us from many other aches and pains that we never think about like back pain, #neckpain #saunas in our major #joints and #muscles. So why then as a massage therapist talking to you about shoes? Shoes are more than just a covering for the bottoms of your feet to keep them warm to keep them from sharp objects they are an extension of our feet and their feet should be given equal importance. There are many different types of foot coverings but here are some common traits I have seen as a body worker that seem to really discriminate on shoes from truly great shoes that help people live their lives with less pain.

  1. Shoes that fit. This might sound simple but it's pretty common that people do not buy shoes that fit them. Very similar to how women are not commonly going to get fitted for their bras most people do not get fitted for their shoes. Most people will buy shoes that are too narrow and the toes or do not have the proper arch support for their shape foot. Even something as simple as how the shoes are tightened onto the foot. Good shoelaces for example used properly can make all the difference but it's the fit of the shoe with that lace that really makes a difference.

  2. Buying shoes for their intended purpose. What do I mean when I say the intended purpose? If you're going to go running by a running style of shoe. If you're going to go climbing by a shoe that you used for climbing. If you're buying a shoe for every day use then buy an all around shoe. When you wear footwear that does not fit the task you can often times find you'll hurt your feet much more than you're going to help them.

  3. Get shoes that you can clean. Not just for the obvious reasons like foot odor but also shoes that can be dried out properly when they get wet. Or when you go outside in cold weather and you need a shoe that can insulate well the insulators need to be removed and washed.

  4. If you have foot pain or a #medical history regarding your knees feet toes or anything in that area don't be afraid to book an appointment with a podiatrist and explain your concerns as well as getting exam because they can point you to shoes that makes sense for your needs. What would be the point of replacing shoes every six months because they hurt when the problem is really the type of shoe you're using not the shoe you're using. I'll podiatrist can also give you an idea of the #lifespan based on how much you use them when they should be replaced and the wear and tear that you should be looking for to indicate that it's also time to replace them.
