SWEDISH MASSAGE (Relaxation Therapy)
The world-wide spa standard using long, powerful strokes aimed mainly towards the heart to increase blood flow and lymphatic efficacy. It also incorporates coached breathing with hand, wrist, and forearm strokes for relaxation and stress relief.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
This treatment is extremely effective for many individuals with fibromyalgia or rotator cuff issues. Similar to trigger point, it treats connective tissue called fascia. Focusing on specific areas of the body, it helps easily release emotional and physical stress points in arms, legs, back, and shoulders. Often incorporated into Swedish massage and viewed as a light stretching. However, a very traditional version of this massage is through a point by point basis. Connective tissue therapy is very important to those who are active and is one of the first things I look at to reduce pain and increase performance.

ONCOLOGY BODYWORK
Oncology massage is a general term used for those who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. The general goal of oncology massage is to provide a means to relax by soothing and encourage the natural healing process of the body. Each cancer has its own particular challenges it’s recommended that you speak to a physician before booking a session. In general if you're receiving radiation or chemotherapy treatment it's recommended that you wait a minimum of 24 hours before receiving bodywork. Every person that gets on the table for oncology massage will always be treated as a person and not as a person with cancer, it is a time for you to relax and heal not to be poked prodded and questioned but to simply be.
CRANIALSACRAL THERAPY
This is the manipulation of your cerebral spinal fluid, releasing nerve pain and muscle strain along the spinal column. Cranialsacral is most effective in younger clients whose bones are still developing, but can also help mature clients. This method is often used to relieve migraine headaches and severe low back pain. This massage involves light touch and stationary holding of the low back, neck or shoulders. This therapy is not recommended for anyone who was recently suffered a concussion or other head injury.
DEEP TISSUE
Deep tissue is one of the most misunderstood terms in the massage therapy world among the general public. Classic deep tissue massage is achieved by embracing the principle of a moving surface tissue and muscle to reach the deepest tissues closest to the bones in the body. This does have a very important therapeutic value. Classic deep tissue is usually done in a full body massage in no less than 90 minutes going extremely slow as a practitioner must wait for the surface tissue to move so that they can begin work on the deepest tissue which they are targeting.
*As a special note - There are very few people that can actually endure sustained heavy pressure against their body and actually release tissue. When most people get deeper pressure it causes their bodies to stiffen to fight against the therapist during the session. This fighting is counter productive and will do more harm for the therapist and have no positive impact for the client. For all those reasons there is a limit to how much pressure I will provide someone during any massage service and when I feel the tissue fighting against me I will simply back off to a more agreeable pressure that their body better response to.
REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology involves holding key points on the hands, feet, or ears to provide pain relief. May help in counteracting intestinal issues. While not recommended for anyone with a sensitivity to bruising, it can be an extremely relaxing experience in itself.
